Now Teaching: Week 12

Not much on the creative side this week. Mostly shoring up the teaching after report cards, dealing with medical things (June will be interesting, also my shoulder’s mostly okay), and getting generally distracted. Though Richard Simard even asked me about a math holiday song. So when NaNo’s done, and my next TTN column’s done, that might be a thing. It’s all looking pretty manageable going forwards, actually. It might last?

Now Teaching: Week 11

First full week back. Report cards got done. I think the drugs must be working, because I was fairly zen about it? Though it also helps that I effectively had another prep period that could be used for doing stuff. My first article for TTNexus also went live, my last shot was delivered, and I attended a Saturday write-in. Captain Marvel, woot, got a journal, a charm and more. (On the down side, on Monday I self diagnosed a strained rotator cuff, ouch, sigh. Oh, also put away the BBQ and AC.)

Now Teaching: Week 10

Finished the relevant chapters in the “Mind Gym” book. Was feeling better about things until a call messed with me on Monday. Still returned Wednesday, got things sorted Thursday. Now it’s all about report cards. x.x (Including for CS. Kinda figured based on the emails I’d been seeing.) So stress is high, but it’s at least a familiar stress. For the record, also put away the hose, swept and replaced lightbulbs.

Now Teaching: Week 9

Through chapters 2, 3, 12, 13 and 14 in my Doctor recommended book (reading the sections for “Overcoming Adversity”). Scheduled to return the middle of the coming week. Have had a couple phone calls, and an edible arrangement delivered. On the non-professional side, surprising news with Anne-Lise, who’s incidentally away this weekend. Also, SOAP reunion was fun, I brought memorabilia (and microwave).

On the writing side, signed up for NaNoWriMo, because what the hell. Also, Halloween was light this year; lit pumpkin a bit before 6pm. Put pumpkin outside a little after 7pm. First arrival a little after 8pm. Last arrival at 8:55pm. Only 8 people in total (4 groups). Far cry from last year’s 29. I need to eat less mini-cheesy bags.
